Massoud Rayegan (Actor) There are few Iranian actors who have become as famous as Massoud Rayegan in such a short time. Living in Sweden as a stage actor for many years, Rayegan appeared in his first Iranian film six years ago, which was named Silence of the Sea (Vahid Mousaeian). Four years later, he appeared in one of the most acclaimed works of the Iranian cinema, that is, Reza Mirkarimi’s So Far, So Close. His success drew other directors to him. During the 25th International Fajr Film Festival, he held a record by appearing in six films. They included: Mainline (Rakhshan Bani-Etemad), The Dulcimer Player (Dariush Mehrjui), The Ivy (Ardeshir Shalileh), Heat (Mohammad Ali Sajjadi), The Earring (Vahid Mousaeian), and Empty Hands (Abolqasem Talebi). Out of those films, only Mainline has thus far been publicly screened.
