Taraneh Taraneh Alidousti (Actress) She was proposed by Habib Rezaei (actor) to play the leading role of I, Taraneh, Am 15 (Rasoul Sadr Ameli) ten years ago and her acting was powerful enough to earn her the best actress prize from that year’s edition of Fajr International Film Festival. She then appeared in three films made by Asghar Farhadi, including in About Elli where she was cast as Elli, the most mysterious character of the film. Alidousti has also appeared in stage plays and was a choice of Mehrjui for his new play. Last year, The Mystery of Taran Plain (Mohammad Lotafali, Hatef Alimardani) was screened at Fajr festival casting Alidousti. She had already appeared in Varouzh Karim Massihi’s Doubt. During the current year, she played a role in the latest work of Alireza Amini, End of the 8th Street, along with Saber Abar as leading actor. She then appeared in Whatever God Decides (Navid Mihandoust). The latter film is currently on public screens and casts Alidousti along with Reza Attaran. There has been news about her interest in other fields of art. Since last year, she has been translating a series of short stories written by Alice Monroe, which will be published soon. After what happened to Asghar Farhadi subsequent to his remarks in the celebration of the Iranian cinema (which is covered by another article in this issue) Alidousti published a letter on her weblog to sympathize with him. She is daughter of Hamid Alidousti, a famous soccer player of 1980s who is now coating a domestic soccer team.
