Mohammad Reza Golzar (Actor) He enjoys all characteristics of a film star in the Iranian cinema. His presence in any movie is a sure guarantee for high box office returns; people go to theaters to see his films; and he is paid the highest among new generation of Iranian actors. Before acting, Golzar was a guitarist with the successful Aryan group. He was first introduced to the Iranian cinema, by Iraj Qaderi, the renowned director of commercial films. He mostly appears in those films which look to the box office and, naturally, talking about their aesthetic aspects would be in vain. Of course, once he appeared in Boutique (Hamid Ne’matollah), which was the first film of its director and could have initiated a new stage in his career. But this did not happen and Boutique has remained as Golzar's sole unconventional film. His appearance was the main factor for high sales of such films as Coma (Arash Moayyerian), Cease-Fire (Tahmineh Milani), Trap (Sirous Alvand), Edelweiss (Kioumars Pourahmad), A Childish Game (Shahram Shah-Hosseini) and Forced Success (Mohammad Hossein Latifi). Years ago, movie stars were either leading actors of action films (like Jamshid Hashempour) or comedians (like Akbar Abdi). However, Golzar is the sole favorite actor who either appears in romantic comedies or in emotional movies. His latest film, Forced Success, focuses on the private life of this actor where Golzar plays his own role at his own house.
