The Iranian International Market for Films and TV Programs is now a major regional market in which Middle Eastern and Central Asian countries present their cinema and television productions. The 12th edition of the market was more prosperous and attended by representatives of important world festivals as well as active cinema and television production and distribution companies. Specialization of the market and its attention to Asian films has dawn enthusiasts to the Iranian film market and it is more so because of the importance of the Iranian cinema.
 Since the market has expanded it has moved to a bigger and more beautiful place which was appreciated by participants. Mellat Cinema Complex offers a gorgeous view of metropolitan Tehran. It has four modern movie theaters which can be compared to the best theaters worldwide.
 A collection of the best Iranian films including When We are All Sleeping (Bahram Baizai), Twenty (Abdolreza Kahani), Motherland (Abolhassan Davoudi), Karat 14 (Parviz Shahbazi), A Time to Love (Ebrahim Forouzesh) and Heiran (Shalizeh Arefpour) has been premiered at this complex.
 Amir Esfandiyari, executive director of the market who has been managing the market since its inception, says, “Most participants maintain that the market has risen in terms of quality compared to many similar world markets and its quantitative growth has been also remarkable.”
 This year’s market was attended by 53 companies selling films along with 22 buyer and 20 Iranian companies. Esfandiyari added, “We undertake costs to invite buyers. We only provide seller companies with stands and they pay for other things. We attach more importance to buyers. The market is a place for personal contacts as well as discussion about films as commodity. Meetings taking place in this market usually end in favorable results.”
